Hosting / Cloud Services

Often users feel that they must give up control and full ownership of their data and accept an unresponsive, feature-poor web browser-based solution in order to not be tasked with managing a server. Clinic Controller has a solution to all these important issues. With Clinic Controller you can either install the software on your own server OR let us handle it by installing it on one of ours. With our solution, you always maintain full control and ownership of your data and enjoy the responsiveness and feature-richness that only a client-server based application can deliver.

When you choose to have A2C Medical host your server installation you will no longer have to be concerned with any of the aspects of system administration - initial installation, backups, making sure that Clinic Controller, SQL Server and the Operating System are all kept up to date with the latest updates and security patches, etc. We also provide you the ability to change your mind; you may start with a hosted solution and move it in-house at a later date or vice versa.

Your Clinic Controller software is hosted in a high-tech data center that is manned and monitored 24/7. We take your data security and data integrity seriously.

For more information on the difference between a modern client server application and a web based app see our page on Web vs Client Server.

  • No outlay for server hardware, support or maintenance
  • All server software included, no CALS or server licenses to buy or upgrade
  • No requirements for physically securing server and controlling access; no worries about fire, flood, theft or vandalism
  • High availability and high network bandwidth ensures Clinic Controller is there and responsive when you need it
  • All server administration handled; no separate IT expenses for keeping a local server updated
  • Easy to move from our site to yours or vice versa. You always have full control and ownership of your data

Security and Compliance

  • Server and Data Center is HIPAA Compliant
  • Dedicated Cisco hardware firewalls are employed to protect your data
  • Virtual Private Network services are available to give you even more control over security
  • Data Center follows ISO 17799-based policies, reviewed as part of the annual SAS70 Type II audit process.
  • Data Center employees trained on information security and privacy procedures.

  • Backups are performed routinely and are stored in 2 locations locally as well as one offsite.
  • All backups are restored and checked for integrity.
  • If a backup ever fails the system automatically notifies the staff and the issue is addressed.

  • To provide multiple redundancies in the flow of information the data center is partnered with nine network providers.
  • Every fiber carrier enters the data center at separate points to protect you from complete service failures caused by carrier network outages or network cuts.
  • You get fast and reliable network connections because the Proactive Network Management methodology monitors route efficiency and end-user performance, automatically improving the network’s topology and configuration in real-time.
  • The network’s configuration, co-developed with Cisco, guards against any single points of failure at the shared network level.

Data Center

Physical Security

  • Keycard protocols, biometric scanning protocols and round-the-clock interior and exterior surveillance monitor access to the data center.
  • Only authorized data center personnel are granted access credentials to the data center. No one else can enter the production area of the datacenter without prior clearance and an appropriate escort.
  • Every data center employee undergoes multiple and thorough background security checks before they’re hired.

Precision Environment

  • The data center’s HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) system is N+1 redundant. This ensures that a duplicate system immediately comes online should there be an HVAC system failure.
  • Every 90 seconds, all the air in the data center is circulated and filtered to remove dust and contaminants.
  • Advanced fire suppression systems are designed to stop fires from spreading in the unlikely event one should occur.

Conditioned Power

  • Should a total utility power outage ever occur, the data centers’ power systems are designed to run uninterrupted, with every server receiving conditioned UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) power.
  • The UPS power subsystem is N+1 redundant, with instantaneous failover if the primary UPS fails.
  • If an extended utility power outage occurs, the routinely tested, on-site diesel generators can run indefinitely.
